Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how AdSpeedup (“AdSpeedup”, “Company”, “we”, “our”, “us”), owned by Closer Innovation Labs Corporation, handles information in connection with our website https://adspeedup.com/ and our AdSpeedup browser extension (together, the “Service”).
AdSpeedup is a browser extension that speeds up, mutes and skips video ads on YouTube and Twitch.
We designed the Service to collect as little data as possible. We do not sell your data, we do not show you ads, and we do not ask you to create an account. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Definitions

SERVICE means the AdSpeedup website at https://adspeedup.com/ and the AdSpeedup browser extension.
USAGE DATA is data collected automatically, generated by the use of the Service (for example, which feature was used or how many ads were skipped).
COOKIES are small files stored on your device by a website.
ANALYTICS IDENTIFIER is a random identifier used by our analytics providers to count unique visitors and sessions. It is not linked to your name, email or any personal account.
THE USER is the individual using our Service.

3. What the Browser Extension Collects

The AdSpeedup browser extension collects only anonymous usage events through Google Analytics 4, so we can understand which features are used and improve the product. Examples of events: the extension was installed or opened, an ad speed (5x/10x/16x) was selected, an ad was skipped, a community or feedback link was clicked.
Each event is sent with a random analytics identifier and a session identifier. These are not linked to your identity.
The extension does NOT collect:
(a) your name, email address or any account information;
(b) your browsing history or the list of pages or videos you watch;
(c) the content of the pages you visit;
(d) passwords, form data or payment information;
(e) a persistent device fingerprint.
The extension requests access only to youtube.com and twitch.tv, and only to detect and speed up, mute or skip video ads on those sites. Its settings (such as the chosen ad speed and the local count of skipped ads) are stored locally in your browser and are not sent to us.

4. What the Website Collects

When you visit https://adspeedup.com/, our analytics providers (see “Analytics” below) automatically collect standard, aggregated usage data such as the pages you view, the date and time of your visit, approximate location derived from your IP address, browser type and referring page. This data is used to measure traffic and improve the website.
The website does not have accounts, login, newsletters or payment forms, and does not ask you to submit personal information.

5. Analytics

We use the following analytics providers to understand how the Service is used. We do not use advertising, remarketing or ad-targeting services.
Google Analytics 4 — a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, used on both the website and the browser extension. Google processes usage data (including IP address) on our behalf to provide aggregated statistics. For more information see the Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en. You can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Vercel Analytics — a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics service provided by Vercel Inc., used on the website only. See https://vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

6. How We Use Data

We use the collected usage data only to:
(a) operate, maintain and improve the Service;
(b) understand which features are used and fix problems;
(c) measure aggregate traffic and performance.
We do not use your data to serve advertisements, and we do not sell or rent it.

7. Cookies and Tracking

The website may use cookies or similar technologies set by Google Analytics to distinguish visitors and sessions. Vercel Analytics is cookieless.
The browser extension does not set advertising cookies; it stores its settings using your browser's local extension storage.
You can instruct your browser to refuse cookies through your browser settings. We honor “Do Not Track” signals where technically feasible.

8. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We share data only with the analytics providers listed above, acting as our processors, and only to provide the analytics service. We do not sell your data and we do not share it with advertising networks.
We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities, or in connection with a merger, acquisition or asset sale, subject to this Privacy Policy.

9. Chrome Web Store Limited Use Compliance

AdSpeedUp’s use and transfer of user data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. AdSpeedUp uses user data only to provide or improve its disclosed single purpose, does not use or transfer user data for personalized advertising or credit-related purposes, and does not sell user data.

10. Retention of Data

We retain aggregated usage data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, and according to the default retention settings of our analytics providers. Extension settings stored locally in your browser remain until you clear them or remove the extension.

11. Transfer of Data

Our analytics providers may process data on servers located outside your country, including in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. By using the Service you consent to this transfer. We take reasonable steps to ensure your data is handled securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

12. Security of Data

The security of your data is important to us, but no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

13. Your Data Protection Rights Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

If you are a resident of the European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain data protection rights under the GDPR. See https://eur-lex.europa.eu/eli/reg/2016/679/oj.
In certain circumstances you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your data, the right to object to processing, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent. Because we collect only anonymous analytics data and do not hold accounts, we may be unable to identify data relating to a specific individual.
To exercise your rights or ask a question, email us at adspeedup@gmail.com. You also have the right to complain to your local Data Protection Authority.

14. Your Data Protection Rights Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion, and to opt out of its sale.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to any third party for any purpose, and we do not collect the categories of personal information (such as name, email or payment details) that would identify you.
To exercise your California rights, email us at adspeedup@gmail.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

15. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with such information, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.

16. Links to Other Sites

Our Service may contain links to other sites that are not operated by us. If you click a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party's site. We strongly advise you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content or privacy practices of any third-party sites or services.

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes are effective when posted on this page.
